Many of you may have heard of the passing of Rue McClanahan. She will be missed as a client of ours and an actress and comedian par excellence to the world.
Hello and thank you for visiting my blogging page. I am Christopher Hojnowski, President and Founder of Quality Draperies and Christopher’s Home Fashion. We are a full service Design Center marketing a free in home design consultation for custom kitchens, bathrooms, custom window treatments and bedspreads, Karastan carpeting and hardwood flooring.
I want to personally extend my sympathy to the family of Rue McClanahan since her passing on June 3, 2010. Rue will be surely missed as an actress; especially in her comedic roll as Blanche Devereaux on the TV show “The Golden Girls”.
I remember her kindness in sending me these photos of the two custom corded bed comforters and dust ruffles which I personally made for a commercial she was filming promoting a motel chain. It broke my heart when the director had to cut holes into the center of the custom corded comforters and false bed to allow Ms. McClanahan to escape from a suite case as part of the commercial. As you can tell, custom design is my passion, and watching two of my comforters destroyed for the cause of advertising was a disappointing experience at first but, for Rue, it was her professional life and based on that understanding, it was quiet OK with me.
Fortunately the machine I used was my Mamutt Robotic Floating Table and
two ton sewing machine that allowed me to quilt the comforters in 3 ½ minutes, so time was not an issue.
Ms. Clanahan will be remembered for her wonderful acting ability and how much she made us laugh through her comedic talent. Thank you Ms. McClanahan, may God rest your soul.
